Human Resources Director
Our client is seeking a Human Resources Director to be the Chief of Staff for their organization. Working closely with different department heads in driving growth and profitability in the global home accessories market. Based in Hong Kong with frequent travels to China and other Asian Countries. The Human Resources Director is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically for the business operations in Hong Kong and China. This role will oversee all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR compliance. The HR Director will lead a team of HR professionals and work closely with senior management to ensure HR initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management on HR‑related issues.
- Anticipate and plan for long‑term human resource needs in line with business growth and expansion.
Talent Acquisition:
- Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to attracting top talent.
- Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates in a competitive market.
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and other external partners.
Employee Relations:
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
- Oversee investigations into employee complaints and grievances.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations in Hong Kong and China.
Performance Management:
- Develop and implement a performance management system that drives high performance and employee engagement.
- Provide training and coaching to managers on performance management best practices.
- Oversee the annual performance review process.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Develop and administer compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and aligned with company objectives.
- Conduct regular market analysis to ensure compensation and benefits are competitive.
- Manage relationships with benefits providers.
Training and Development:
- Identify training and development needs across the organization.
- Develop and implement training programs to address identified needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
HR Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations in Hong Kong and China.
- Maintain accurate employee records.
- Manage HR audits and inspections.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals in Hong Kong and China.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a MUST, preferably in the fashion accessories industry.
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong and China labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required.
- Experience managing HR in a multi‑site organization.
