Portfolio Manager- Asian Equities

Our client is a large Asset Management company with a strong presence in Asia. With the strong growth in Asia, they are looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager with Asian Equities experience

Personal Contribution and Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to Chief Investment Officer for APAC, successful candidate will be responsible for all Asia Equity Investments and Executive Officer of the discretionary mandates.
  • Oversees all aspects of discretionary mandates: risk profiles, external regulatory requirements and internal policy where applicable.
  • Carry out general research, create new investment ideas and monitor the market and investment risks of the discretionary mandates.
  • Construct model portfolios and execute portfolio rebalancing and hedging as required.
  • Provide oversight to the conduct of Type 9 business and the activities performed by Type 9‑ licensed employees of the company.
  • Provide training to junior staff and support internal statistics to internal business heads

Professional and Technical

  • University degree in Economics, Finance or Business
  • CFA qualification preferred
  • 15+ years in Asian Equities long only or long short investment experience.
  • Excellent financial market know‑how with regard to rates, credits and currencies
  • Knowledge of legal and risk management framework, in particular to have good understanding of HK/ China/ Japan/ India asset management regulatory framework such as Fund Manager Code of Conduct
  • Experience and good track record in managing Asian investments in discretionary mandates
  • Quantitative/statistical skills for portfolio optimization and equities screening
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Information systems such as Bloomberg
